April 2014 will once again be National Safe Digging Month, the time of year when all Common Ground Alliance stakeholders come together to communicate how important it is that professionals and homeowners call before they dig and follow the safe digging process to help prevent injuries, property damage and inconvenient outages.

Underground Facility Locator Designation
Great news for the line locating industry!
CAPULC, our industry organization, is pushing to have "Underground Facility Locator" listed as an official Designated Occupation
Doing so will benefit the damage prevention process for buried facilities, improve worker competence, and enhance the integrity of the locating profession.

Ode to the Locator Man
To kick-off our new website, here is a poem in anticipation of winter:
Ode to the Locator Man
Over frozen roads we roam, driving black trucks to wherever you want us to go,
Our purpose is simple: to find cable and pipe,
So as to allow you to dig without any plight;
We have years of experience on all sorts of terrain,
Before the ground freezes, our life is a pain!
Hopefully, it was asked if snow machines are needed,
“Please don’t make us walk up that right-of-way on snowshoes,” we pleaded.
Regardless, the toils of the job, we’ll get it done,
